The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit (OU) is a newly formed team with a bold mission: to consolidate, simplify, and accelerate Microsoft’s presence across the DIB landscape. This expansive network includes over 100,000 organizations specializing in manufacturing, aviation, cybersecurity, and more—all united in their support of all Federal Agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense and other mission-based intelligence and civilian organizations.

The DIB OU will directly manage and accelerate strategic and major DIB accounts across MCAPS Americas, while also enabling growth across other OUs and SME&C. We’re building new relationships, transforming legacy operations, and helping our customers modernize with confidence.
The DIB OU is currently looking for an Account Executive with a proven history of driving growth in market share, achieving sales targets, customer obsession, and partner collaboration. This role will give you the opportunity to leverage your extensive customer network and sales experience to execute against your customer’s account plan.
As an Account Executive you will have the opportunity to drive Transformation in partnership with our customers with a focus on AI, Copilot and Security to achieve both Microsoft and customer business outcomes. Leveraging your large, multi-functional team across the breadth of the Microsoft solutions portfolio, engage at the most senior levels of your customer and bring industry-relevant solutions to help the customer adopt and embrace digital technologies.

- Customer Advocate – Develops and oversees the execution of account plan(s) to ensure Microsoft revenue targets and customer outcomes are met.
- Engages with internal and external stakeholders on business planning, to promote mutually beneficial customer digital transformation strategies.
- Orchestrate full customer team across all areas of Microsoft to ensure we are focused on delivering customer outcomes across the customer lifecycle to build deep trust with Microsoft.
- Industry Relevant Trusted Seller – Proactively develops a strong understanding of the customer’s business, industry priorities to drive new business opportunities/ drive growth/net new business.
- Advocates on behalf of the customer internally, ensuring requests and needs of assigned accounts are being addressed.
- Deliver Sales Excellence – Leads and orchestrates extended virtual teams across our solution areas to consistently achieve growth in revenue & market share.
- Industry Knowledge – Builds and maintains a strong knowledge of customers’ industry, associated business strategy, and key industry partners and solutions. Gains deeper insights and knowledge through direct engagement in their customers’ business and operations.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience relevant industry work experience (Manufacturing, Government, Defense & Intelligence, Technology etc.) and/or driving digital transformation
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, or related field AND 2+ years of experience working in a relevant industry driving digital transformation, and/or relevant work experience.
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration AND 1+ years experience working in an industry, driving digital transformation, and/or relevant work experience.
- OR equivalent experience
Other Requirements:
- Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Account Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $87,000 - $148,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $113,400 - $164,000 per year.
Account Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $107,600 - $187,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,600 - $205,600 per year.
