Job Description:

Boston Conservatory at Berklee is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Assistant Director of Admissions to join our team. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a creative, mission-driven environment and is passionate about guiding future performing artists through the admissions journey.

As the primary recruiter for our Theater Division, the Assistant Director plays a key role in representing Berklee’s commitment to artistic excellence, access, and innovation. Working closely with faculty, staff, and prospective students, this role leads recruitment efforts, manages auditions, and oversees the application process—from initial inquiry through enrollment. In all recruitment efforts and campus services, the Assistant Director is expected to represent Berklee as an institution—upholding its core values and providing a high standard of service to all prospective students and their families.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead national and on-campus recruitment for the Theater Division, including 6–8 weeks of travel each fall

  • Coordinate and execute audition events across the country and online

  • Plan major admissions events like Open Houses and accepted student programs

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Theater applicants, ensuring a high level of service and support

  • Manage application materials and data in platforms such as Salesforce, SlideRoom, and TargetX

  • Collaborate with faculty and admissions staff to register for fairs and conferences

  • Maintain and update admissions content on the Berklee website

This position blends logistical coordination with creativity and collaboration. It’s perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, arts-focused environment and values the impact of student-centered, inclusive admissions work.

Who You Are:

  • A strong communicator and organized problem-solver

  • Experienced in admissions, performing arts, or large-scale event planning (2–3 years preferred)

  • Comfortable traveling independently and working occasional evenings and weekends

  • Passionate about theater, education, and empowering emerging artists

  • Proficient in tools like Google Suite, Salesforce, SlideRoom, and social media platforms

  • Bachelor’s degree required—background in the performing arts preferred

Why Berklee:

At Berklee, creativity isn’t just encouraged—it’s expected. You’ll join a diverse, passionate community that values collaboration, continuous learning, and work-life balance. Berklee offers competitive benefits, opportunities for hybrid work, and a culture rooted in inclusion, artistic innovation, and real-world impact.

Our mission is to educate, train, and develop students to excel in music and the performing arts. Our vision is to shape the future of arts education by fostering creativity and advancing careers through a supportive, inclusive learning environment. This role is a chance to be at the center of that mission—helping students access life-changing opportunities in the arts.
