Job Overview
The Core Investment Systems team is responsible for developing technology solutions supporting Arrowstreet Capital’s investment services and operations. We leverage technology to automate business processes introducing solutions using a combination of custom development and packaged platforms. The Core Investment Systems team provides services and capabilities to our business users that are essential to the firm’s ability to deliver sustained alpha and to meet our fiduciary commitment to our clients.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven, team-oriented, accomplished hands-on AWS Python engineer with who has a passion for improving software architecture and the development process. The ideal candidate will be creative problem-solver who enjoys working on complex problems as part of a team. In this role you will have the opportunity to design and implement software solutions which take complex investment processes and bring them to life. Collaboration with other developments and teams within Investment Systems and the broader IT team is a critical part of the success in this role.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a Python full-stack developer whose typical responsibilities may include:
Engaging with business and technology leaders to understand strategy, articulate solution options, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence key decisions
Automating the software development, testing and deployment process including observability and application/infrastructure pipelines
Participating as an engaged member of an agile development team
Collaborating with other groups including developers, DBAs, network engineers, quality assurance and third-party vendors / consultants
Embracing development best practices including continuous delivery and test automation
Creating and maintaining documentation that is thorough, complete, and of a professional caliber
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information technology, mathematics, data science, or electrical engineering upon graduation in May/June 2025. Demonstrated academic success and achievement.
Applied technology experience through prior internships and academic projects.
Proficient with Python and comfortable with SQL. Other languages and UI platforms such as Scala, Rust, and React are a plus.
Demonstrated interest in a software engineering career path and programming experience
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Motivation, curiosity, enthusiasm, and passion for technology
