About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Executive Director in the Legal Department as part of the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) division, with a focus on wealth banking and lending. In this role, you will focus on providing advice and counsel regarding securities-based, mortgage, and custom lending, as well as banking support for high net worth/ultra-high net worth clients.
In this role, you will:
- Lead a team of professionals who support lending transactions; the development of new lending products and initiatives; and banking for private wealth clients
- Advise on bank and broker dealer regulatory requirements applicable to banking and lending activities
- Serve as a more experienced legal advisor to more experienced management of the businesses within Wells Fargo
- Handle matters that have a significant impact on operations, strategies, or profitability
- Manage and develop teams with moderate complexity and risk
- Participate in the most complex legal projects
- Apply specialty legal expertise proactively, to manage the most complex legal and regulatory issues
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of team to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
- Develop relationships with and provide guidance to more experienced leadership including executive officers on issues that may present legal, regulatory, compliance, or reputational risk to the Company
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers
- Oversee and take an active role in the education and training of a team of attorneys
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Counsel
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as a practicing attorney with securities-based bank and broker dealer lending products; custom and mortgage lending transactions; and banking for high net worth/ultra-high net worth clients
- Proven collaboration skills with the ability to interface with regulators, internal regulatory relation stakeholders, external trade associations, legal subject matter experts across the enterprise, and business stakeholders
- Ability to motivate, communicate, delegate, and enable confidence in others
- Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring and training of less experienced employees
- Demonstrated experience advising senior management
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop and execute risk-focused solutions
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
Job Expectations:
- Position will require onsite presence from any of the required locations listed below in a hybrid work schedule

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$173,300.00 - $359,900.00Benefits
