Job Description
The Associate Principal Scientist, Health Economics will report to the Executive Director, BARDS (Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences). They will have the primary responsibility for strategic development, use of high-quality economic models and tools to generate business insights and to demonstrate the value of our company's products to relevant stakeholders, such as payers, health technology assessment (HTA) agencies, healthcare decision makers, providers, and patients.
The Associate Principal Scientist, Health Economics will serve as the HEDS (Health Economic and Decision Sciences) lead on one or more value evidence team(s), and work closely with the cross-functional team(s) to develop and refine the integrated value evidence strategy and evidence generation across all phases of product development. They will also work closely with the HEOR (health economics and outcomes research) teams in key markets to support local market access. The position will focus on general & specialty medicines, throughout their development cycle.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Provision of strategic insights into the development and refinement of the integrated value evidence strategy and evidence generation from the perspective of health economics
Development and maintenance of high-quality global health economic analyses and tools in house or in collaboration with an external vendor to provide critical business insights and to fully demonstrate the value of our Company's products, using established and novel methodologies. The analyses include but not limited to epidemiology analyses, early and late cost-effectiveness analyses, public health analyses, budget impact analyses, and integrated field force tools
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to conduct evidence generation and synthesis studies that are used to inform economic models and the value evidence strategy
Adaptation and/or training of global health economic resources for regional/local HEOR teams to support local HTA submissions and market access activities
Dissemination of health economic data via presentations at national/international congresses and publications in scientific journals
Qualifications:
Education
Doctoral degree or master's degree, in (Health) Economics, Biostatistics, Actuarial Sciences, or a related, quantitatively oriented field
Required experience and skills
Expertise and hands-on experience in conceptualization, design, development and dissemination of health economic analyses to support internal and external decision-making
Minimum 3 years' experience in HEOR in the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy, or relevant organizations
Understanding of the market access environment and challenges in key markets, (eg the US, Canada, the UK and EU4, China, Japan)
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communicational skills with ability to interact with individuals from a variety of disciplines
Preferred experience and skills
Strong track-record of innovative HTA submissions and development of health economic resources to support market access activities
Demonstrated strategic, innovative thinking, and decision making
Experience in cardiovascular/metabolic diseases, antiviral therapies, immunology, neuroscience, and/or ophthalmology
Experience in evidence generation, synthesis and analysis, such as real-world studies, literature research, meta-analysis
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and internal and external networking skills to work in cross-functional teams

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
