Job Description
Seeking a midlevel associate with 3-5 years of large law firm experience to join our tax practice in our Boston office. The successful applicant must possess excellent academic credentials and writing skills and should have experience representing public and private companies, private equity funds, hedge funds, and other private fund vehicles, and institutional investors in the tax aspects of fund formations, fund operational matters, limited partner investments, mergers and acquisitions, partnership and joint venture transactions, and other similar transactional tax matters. Experience with cross-border tax planning, partnership taxation, and special tax regimes (including those relevant to regulated investment companies, real estate investment trusts, foreign government investors, and foreign pension fund investors) is desirable. The candidate must have the ability to understand the practical interaction of tax considerations within a larger framework of commercial agreements and goals, possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and have the ability to work effectively as part of large cross-office teams. Active Massachusetts Bar membership is required.
