JOB SUMMARY
This role requires understanding of the structure, policies, and operations of the Spectrum lines of business in order to enable change and deliver value to the organization. The business analyst conducts complex analysis, translating user needs into detailed requirements that is used as an input to work that is done by teams such as IT, and other technology groups, to deliver solutions that align with organizational goals and objectives. Youwill play a critical role in driving the improvement of newly implemented projects, products and initiatives, ensuring best practices are in place across the organization. Works independently with minimal supervision.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Acts as a subject matter expert on projects assigned.
- Responsible for eliciting, validating, verifying and documenting project requirements from impacted stakeholders.
- Translate high-level business needs into functional specifications for the IT organization. Manage changes to such specifications.
- Analyze business operations to determine opportunities for improvement and to automate processes and functions.
- Lead business process design and documentation as needed for new technology. Create workflows and convey findings in PowerPoint and/or Visio.
- Serve as project team member for multiple projects, as needed.
- Partner with the QA organization by participating in daily defect review calls, test planning and strategy sessions. Following QA, this role is expected to support UAT activities and participate in pre-launch and post-launch activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present performance feedback effectively.
- Excellent presentation skills with small- to medium-sized groups.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or related field.
- 3+ years' experience in business analysis with experience in process documentation, requirements gathering, product development and project implementation.
- Strategic, proactive, critical thinker; able to uncover weaknesses in policies and procedures and suggest areas of improvement.
- Detail-oriented; ability to analyze business objectives and goals on an investigative level.
- Strong organizational and time management skills - this position will be working on multiple projects with multiple customers concurrently.
