Position Summary
We are looking for someone who is passionate about BGCB’s mission and is excited to make financial information easier to access and understand across the organization. The Business Analyst is a strategic, systems-oriented role focused on improving how BGCB collects, uses, and communicates financial information. This person will lead process improvements, build tools that increase visibility and efficiency, and partner with teams across the organization to inform better decision-making.
Ideal candidates are curious, self-directed, and eager for feedback. They should bring experience launching systems or tools, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to making financial information more useful and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational Reporting
- Translate financial and operational data into meaningful, accessible reports for decision-makers at all levels.
- Serve as the organization’s in-house expert on extracting, cleaning, and visualizing data from systems like Microsoft Dynamics and Planning Maestro.
- Prepare materials and respond to requests that support the Board's Finance Committee, helping to guide strategic oversight.
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality and reporting processes.
Project Leadership
- Lead projects from ideation through execution, with clear communication on timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Develop project plans, engage stakeholders, and manage vendor relationships when necessary.
- Monitor progress, assess impact, and adapt project approaches based on stakeholder feedback.
Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building
- Build relationships across club sites and departments to surface needs and co-create solutions.
- Develop and deliver trainings, guides, and reference materials to support the adoption of new systems or processes.
- Actively contribute to the Finance team’s efforts to reduce single points of failure and expand team capabilities.
- Champion user-friendly financial tools and language that empower staff at all levels to understand and manage their budgets confidently.
Strategic Process & Systems Improvement
- Lead cross-departmental efforts to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce manual processes.
- Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and recommend system enhancements or redesigns.
- Spearhead the implementation of new tools or reporting solutions, working closely with internal teams and external vendors.
- Document, evaluate, and refine existing practices to promote institutional knowledge and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in business analysis, systems implementation, or operations improvement.
- Demonstrated experience designing or launching new systems, tools, or workflows.
- Expertise in Excel.
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and Planning Maestro.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- A collaborative, respectful approach to simplifying complex information for broader understanding and use.
