Captive Insurance Account Manager
This team member will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day insurance, regulatory and financial management of a portfolio of Group Captive Cells & Risk Retention Group (RRG) captives, as well as Single Parent captives working to maintain relationships with clients, producers, and various service providers including independent auditors, independent actuaries, attorney’s, TPA’s, carriers/reinsurers, and reinsurance brokers, to ensure client companies remain in compliance with regulatory and accounting requirements.

About the Role
As a Captive Insurance Account Manager some of your key responsibilities will involve;
- Managing the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of clients and be a contact for individuals from within various departments at the client (risk management, corporate accounting, tax, legal, etc.)
- Ensuring the quality and timeliness of financial reports and regulatory filings on a consistent basis, in coordination with other NFP colleagues
- Preparing financial statements, NAIC and state regulatory filings, including data compilation, journal entry development and input, as well as the creation of comprehensive financial statements and related supporting schedules and related regulatory reports.
- Liaise with insurance and reinsurance brokers, including preparation and review of captive insurance policies and reinsurance contracts, as required
- Coordinating efforts with outside service providers to meet client needs (audit, investment manager, actuary, claims manager, legal, etc.)
- Assisting in preparing and presenting materials during client board meetings, ensuring both optimum quality and “value add” of the information included
- Ensure compliance with the RISC governance framework
About You
As a Captive Insurance Account Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include;
- Proven ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently in an office with other professionals in order to meet deadlines and satisfy the needs of the client and service team managers
- 4 yr Accounting degree and/or 2+ years captive experience required
- 2+ years of experience in preparing NAIC and other regulatory filings, and management financial statements with both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT) or related experiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and GL software programs
- Organized and able to multi-task with ability to effectively re-prioritize tasks as needed and manage several projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated responsiveness to internal and external clients
- Effective communicator, both verbally and written
- Contribute to a collaborative, innovative and forward-thinking office
- CPA or equivalent or CPA candidate a plus

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 – $100,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
