Position: Category Analyst
Location: Hybrid- Quincy, MA
Rate: Negotiable based on experience

Category Analyst
We are looking for an insightful and detail-oriented Category Analyst to support our Category Management team and drive profitable sales through effective vendor relationship management, data analysis, and more. In this role, you will work closely with the Category Merchandising & Pricing teams to achieve departmental strategies and initiatives, including shelf presentation, assortment decisions, cost negotiations, promotional planning, and product and program development.
What we ask of you.
- Support Category Management:
- Assist in the development and execution of category plans to achieve sales and profitability targets
- Provide analytical support to inform decision-making and strategy formulation
- Vendor Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Support cost negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and terms
- Collaborate with vendors on product and program development initiatives
- Data Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Generate reports and insights to support category and merchandising strategies
- Monitor and analyze category performance metrics and KPIs
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Category Merchandising & Pricing teams to support shelf presentation and assortment decisions
- Assist in promotional planning and execution to drive sales and category growth.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new products and programs.
- Communication:
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors
- Present clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Ensure alignment of category initiatives with overall business strategy
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field, preferably in Category Management, Merchandising, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
