About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Product Sales Specialist who will provide coverage to the marine industry in the United States. This position will work in strong partnership, support, and direction of the senior Wells Fargo team in the industry. The focus will be on US Flagged/Jones Act vessels and supporting equipment. This position is an opportunity to apply superior relationship management, finance, and marketing skills to an industry that is critical to the ongoing health of the US economy. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in equipment finance and leasing focusing on a specialized industry where knowledge of the industry and relationship with key clients and prospects are critical to long term success. Specific marine finance experience is not required, best in class understanding of modern sales tools, prospect research, interpersonal skills, financial aptitude, and communication skills are.
In this role, you will:
- Support senior leaders to attract, develop, grow, and retain client relationships within the Commercial Marine segment
- Assist with preparation of client data/info, creation of pitch books and other marketing materials, and/or development of presentation materials for client meetings and/or internal discussions
- Support execution of in person and online client calls by conducting pre-call planning, recording call notes, and coordinating post-call debrief sessions
- Initiate regular touchpoints with senior leaders to review and discuss portfolio, active opportunities, and pending deliverables needing completion; manage action items to completion
- Offer the full suite of Wells Fargo’s solutions to meet multi-faceted needs by thoughtfully engaging product organizations, developing client specific coverage plans, leveraging a solid understanding of industry landscapes, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions
- Take ownership and assist with client related administrative/operational functions including account openings, service team coordination, and addressing customer issues and problems
- Independently lead or resolve complex initiatives and guide cross functional team to meet deliverables within Equipment Finance group while leveraging a solid understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and meeting compliance requirements
- Utilize and excel at relevant systems, dashboards and platform tools to drive data based decisioning and strategy including relationship planning
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of secured or specialized lending sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong credit background and experience with highly structured lending transactions
- Aptitude to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to generate leads, cold call and initiate meetings with new clients
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Energetic, quick learner, positive attitude, self-motivated
- Ability to work independently, organizing and managing multiple priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through prior experiences with Sr. Management
- Ability to lead low to moderate complex tasks, processes, transactions with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and SuperTRUMP
Job Expectations:
- Become proficient in all aspects of the Jones Act and the Commercial Marine business
- Travel up to 50% of the time
- This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule
