In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst Summer Intern to join our manufacturing team. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our operations team to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform process improvements and optimize manufacturing efficiency. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in data analysis, data visualization, and statistical process control in a manufacturing environment.
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.

Full-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $67640
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.

The Role: In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators such as production volume, quality, and throughput
- Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement using statistical methods and data visualization tools
- Collaborate with production teams to design and implement experiments to test process improvements
- Assist in the development of predictive models to forecast production volumes and material requirements
- Present findings and recommendations to production management and other stakeholders
- Participate in LEAP Intern events and activities
- You love working with a team and receiving input from others.
- You constantly ask questions and love learning.
- You are always looking for ways to do things better and faster.
- Candidate for a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM field and will have completed their junior year of college prior to start of internship.
- Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Excellent team player who is willing to contribute and learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling.
