Berklee College of Music invites applications for the role of Department Coordinator in the Professional Music Department. Reporting directly to the Department Chair, the Department Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations and advancing initiatives that enrich the student experience. The Department Coordinator will help keep the heartbeat of the Professional Music Department running smoothly by managing communications, organizing events, supporting students, and maintaining essential departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative support including calendar and budget management, degree audits, student file maintenance, and event staffing on and off campus (venues like Cambridge Kiosk, UnCommon Stage, Club Passim).
Serve as the department’s welcoming point person, responding to student inquiries and connecting them with the right resources.
Support the Chair in organizing, promoting, and facilitating department events and initiatives, including Berklee Revelation Records projects.
Manage departmental communications through emails, social media, website updates, and printed materials with clarity and professionalism.
Maintain proficiency with administrative technologies to support student registration, records, and classroom logistics.
Represent the department at majors fairs, open houses, and recruitment events, providing prospective students and families with a warm, informative experience.
Who You Are
You bring at least three years of professional administrative experience, ideally in music, arts, or education settings, with a Bachelor’s degree.
You communicate with ease and professionalism across diverse groups—from students to visiting artists and industry leaders.
You’re highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities, and comfortable working independently with initiative.
You’re tech-savvy and confident with platforms like Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, DAW software, and social media. Bonus points if you have skills in graphic design, photography, or videography.
You understand or appreciate music and the arts and are eager to support a vibrant academic community.

Hiring Range: $27 to $32; hourly wage dependent on relevant experience and education.
