Summary of role:

We are seeking a Director, Commercial Contracts who will lead the strategic vision of the Lantheus Commercial Contracts. This includes ownerships of contract development, negotiation support, redlining and execution. Individual must have the ability to be customer facing, is able to quickly shift priorities.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to setting the Strategic vision of the Lantheus commercial contracting development process.
  • Develops and maintains commercial contracting templates, which are adaptable to evolving business needs.
  • Lead on cross-functional collaboration for development and maintenance of commercial contracts.
  • Reviews contract terms, identifies potential issues, assists sales team in negotiations with customer representatives on specific terms and escalates unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Through discussion with Lantheus management, assist in deriving contracting strategies for various company product-lines, including pricing and rebating strategies.
  • Regularly reviews terms and conditions of existing agreements and related data and processes as needed to ensure key contract provisions are being appropriately managed.    
  • Prepares, reviews, and responds to RFP’s and RFI’s from Customers.  This includes gathering all necessary data and forms, updating required documentation, acquiring appropriate approvals, and ensuring all deadlines are met. Ability to work under strict deadlines, respond accurately and within company guidelines.
  • Coordinates implementation of terms and conditions (pricing and rebates) with Commercial Administration.  Educates Commercial Administration team on contract details.  Performs regular reviews of system price files to ensure accuracy. 
  • With the legal team creates, drafts, and coordinates communication with customers relating to terms of agreements.  This includes annual price letters, termination letters, extensions, and renewals.
  • Supports Sales Management by performing regular and ad-hoc data gathering/reporting regarding current contract effectiveness, ASP, customer purchasing patterns and other KPIs.  May perform projects related to customer’s purchasing data and contracting as directed by management. Assist in the preparation of Pricing Committee Team meetings.
  • Maintains current knowledge of, and ensure all work activities are conducted in, compliance with the full range of related internal and external systems, technology, regulatory requirements and related policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders across multiple internal work teams. 
  • Conduct legal research and provide guidance on contract interpretation, risks, and compliance issues.
  • Liaise with customers and internal clients to ensure smooth contract negotiations and execution.
  • Provide training and support to the company’s departments on commercial transaction processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Full understanding of the fundamentals and structure of contract terms and conditions
  • Experience with redlining and editing of contracts is required.
  • Ability to lead a team, setting clear objectives and mentoring team
  • BA/BS degree preferred.  Equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of contract administration experience preferably in the Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industries.   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptionally detailed oriented and organized.

  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects at the same time.  Thrives in a fast paced environment and can show flexibility in managing priorities.
  • Demonstrated strengths in a contracts, pricing, or related administration capacity.  
  • Solid negotiation, presentation, analytic and customer skills.
  • Occasional overnight travel based on business need.
