As Director, Supply Chain Programs 1, you will partner with the program executives, Global Supply Chain, Engineering and other stakeholders, to focus on key suppliers critical to successful program execution that may be experiencing and/or at risk of experiencing performance challenges. This Director will be responsible for providing on-site presence at these critical suppliers to assist in resolution of significant issues impacting a portfolio of Programs across the Mission Systems sector. This position is expected to lead cross-functional teams that may include Engineering, Program Management, Quality Mission Assurance, Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain.
This position will report directly to the Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain for the Baltimore site and focus on execution excellence, ensuring that our critical suppliers not only meet, but exceed cost, schedule, and performance metrics. Additionally, as a functional director, you will have the ability to drive operational excellence and process maturation in collaboration with these critical suppliers for both short term and long term recovery.
Candidates should have strong program management and/or supplier management experience.
This position requires ability for 100% travel to supplier sites in the New England area with home base in Baltimore, MD.
Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of critical suppliers and include, but are not limited to:
• Cultivating strong supplier business relationships at all levels of leadership and professionals within the supplier's organization
• Reporting progress against the baseline to NG management and takes appropriate actions to keep the program on track, including proactively driving corrective actions when necessary to maintain commitments to internal and external customer(s).
• Leading and directing cross-functional SMTs to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives
• Delivering presentations to suppliers, executive management and other program stakeholders
• Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements
• Establishment and management of the program and subordinate baselines
• Ensuring SMTs understand and adhere to subcontract scope, and manage change through control board activities
• Development and adherence to complex Integrated Master Schedules
• Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization
• Coordinating cross-functional as it pertains to supplier management, specifically with Engineering, Quality Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain, and Program Management Office
• Briefing Program and Executive management and Customer on the status and issues affecting Supplier performance and cost
• Collaborating with supplier on process improvement and maturation
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years' of relevant experience with 5+ of those years spent managing programs in global supply chain, quality, project management, engineering, program management, operations management, manufacturing or a Master's Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience with 4+ of those years spent managing programs in global supply chain, quality, project management, engineering, program management, operations management, manufacturing
• 5+ years of experience managing people including working in a cross-functional environment and/or experience managing profit and loss
• US Citizenship and Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain SAP
• Experience with project/program management
• Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and program management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience leading and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
• Experience in managing a broad range of suppliers including providers of complex components/assemblies/systems, services, and commodities.
• Experience with assessing a supplier's factory operational model and walk a manufacturing line/process.
• Experience and understanding of the Program Execution Framework (PEF) and it's application to various types of programs.
• Experience developing strategic plans and transition to strategy deployment.
• Completion of Program Management Training.
Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
