Director, Thought Leader Liaison, US Kidney - Pove
Vertex is seeking a talented leader to join our US Kidney Business Unit to support our aspirations of bringing povetacicept and inaxaplin, two Phase 3 investigational therapies that have the potential to transform multiple serious diseases, to patients.
The Director, Thought Leader Liaison, US Kidney leads thought leader engagement for both povetacicept and inaxaplin within the US Kidney Business Unit to support our launches in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and APOL1-mediated kidney disease (AMKD). The Thought Leader Liaison will act as the lead and be responsible for our promotional speakers’ bureau, commercial advisory boards, and branded patient ambassador programs. We are seeking a candidate that has a strong track record in US commercial roles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. This role reports to the Vice President of the US Kidney Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
Develops and maintains KTL Engagement Plans for thought leaders
Plans and executes National and Regional Congress Engagement Plan with a focus on meaningful engagements with senior leadership and in support of marketing initiatives
Supports commercial KTL influence mapping initiatives by developing profiles
Monitors KTL insights about current and future treatment patterns that may impact the commercial strategy and provide feedback for consideration
Drives the facilitation and execution of commercial Kidney advisory boards through identification of key advisors, deck development, and board execution
Aligns with field partners such as Medical Science Liaisons on complementary initiatives with shared customers
Trains physician speakers and patient ambassadors on approved promotional slide decks
Works with marketing and contracted speakers and ambassadors to gain and synthesize feedback in support of the evolution of promotional programming content, case studies for potential publications, and other commercial projects
Works with cross-functional teams to provide key customer insights and input on strategy, tactics, and messaging, and program execution
Role models and instills a culture of compliance focused on ethics and integrity in all we do
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree
Typically requires 10 years experience in healthcare / biopharmaceuticals, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
Additional preferred experiences:
Specialty product launch experience
Work within highly competitive markets
Kidney experience
Required Skills
Experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or thought leader engagement
Working knowledge of Thought Leader and Patient Ambassador engagement practices
Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge and aptitude in complex disease states
Demonstrated ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under short timelines
Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
Self-driven with strong organizing and planning skills
Highly collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay Range:
$195,200 - $292,800Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
