ABOUT THE ROLE:

The City of Cambridge is looking for an experienced ERP Security and Functional Analyst to support our enterprise PeopleSoft system. Reporting to the Director of ERP, This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of PeopleSoft security architecture, functional configuration, and business process analysis. The ideal candidate will partner with stakeholders to manage user access, configure system setups, and help translate business needs into effective system solutions. They will also lead efforts in requirements gathering, documentation, test planning, issue resolution, and the development of training plans for large-scale enterprise projects. Additionally, this role will contribute to the evaluation and selection of new technologies to support the City’s evolving business needs.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Security Administration:
    • Manage user profiles, roles, permission lists, and row-level security in PeopleSoft.
    • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties (SoD) and enforce security policies and controls.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and remediation support.
  • System Setup & Functional Support:
    • Configure modules and perform functional setups in areas such as HRMS, Financials, and other ERP modules
    • Collaborate with functional leads to implement and test new functionality or enhancements.
    • Maintain configuration documentation and support configuration changes in line with business requirements.
  • Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to system functionality and security.
    • Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to deliver effective solutions.
    • Develop test plans and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide second-tier support for user access and functional issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve security-related problems or configuration errors.
    • Monitor system changes for impacts on access or business processes.
    • Work as part of a team of support professionals to deliver excellent technical/non-technical support with outstanding customer service, satisfaction, and timeliness in solving cases.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PeopleSoft applications, with a strong focus on security administration and functional support.
  • Solid understanding of PeopleSoft security architecture (roles, permission lists, row-level security, etc.).
  • Experience with PeopleSoft modules such as HCM and FSCM
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting audits and working in a controlled environment (e.g., SOX, GDPR) is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with PeopleTools and basic SQL.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, BMC TrackIT).
  • Knowledge of change management and ITIL processes.
  • Experience with reporting tools like PeopleSoft Query or BI Publisher.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Answer telephones and maintain multiple files. Must read and analyze large quantities of information. Must have sufficient mobility to get back and forth from office to offsite meetings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Work is conducted primarily in an office environment with fluorescent lighting, air conditioning, computers, and other standard office equipment, but also involves meetings in other offices or facilities.
