Position Overview
Our client in the B2B product space is looking to bring on a seasoned and adaptable Growth Marketing Director to lead their marketing efforts. This role is crucial in guiding the company through a challenging yet rewarding growth phase, evolving from a manufacturing organization to an eCommerce organization. The initial focus will be on stabilizing marketing operations during ongoing technical upgrades and potential changes in technology partners, while also laying the groundwork for future scalable growth in the B2B sector.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven B2B e-commerce specialist who thrives in dynamic settings, has a strong technical grasp of e-commerce platforms and SEO, and excels at building processes, managing teams, and delivering measurable results with limited resources. The Growth Marketing Director will shape the marketing function, work closely with Technology/Operations and Sales, and implement a phased strategy focused on stabilization and scaling. You'd be joining a small marketing team with the goal of growing and later, bringing all current agency operations in-house to report under you.
Key Responsibilities

- Marketing Operations Stability: Work closely with leadership and technology teams to understand current platform limitations and adapt marketing activities accordingly.
- Technical Collaboration: Act as the marketing liaison for technical platform issues, using technical knowledge (especially regarding SEO) to prioritize fixes and manage SEO agency efforts.
- Agency Management & Transition: Oversee existing agency relationships (SEO, Advertising, Platform Partners), manage transitions or onboard new partners, ensuring alignment with the phased strategy.
- Cost-Effective Tactics: Implement high-ROI, low-dependency marketing tactics focused on customer retention, lead nurturing (email marketing), content repurposing, and organic social media (LinkedIn).
- Data & Reporting Foundation: Establish baseline KPIs for marketing performance, focusing on channel efficiency, lead quality, and website stability metrics. Implement robust tracking and reporting mechanisms.
- Budget Management: Prudently manage the marketing budget, aligning spend with the phased strategy and prioritizing foundational needs.
Phase 2 & 3: Activation & Scaled Growth:
- Strategic Growth Plan: Refine and execute the B2B growth marketing strategy to achieve revenue targets.
- E-commerce Optimization: Post-stabilization, drive improvements in website performance, UX, conversion rates, and overall e-commerce revenue. Oversee ongoing optimization of e-commerce platforms.
- Demand Generation: Develop and scale B2B demand generation programs across relevant channels (SEO, Paid Media, Content Marketing, Email).
- SEO Leadership: Oversee the execution of a comprehensive SEO strategy.
- Content & Brand Strategy: Lead the development of compelling content for B2B audiences and oversee brand strategy execution.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team and external agency partners.
- Data-Driven Optimization: Continuously analyze marketing data to optimize campaigns, forecast performance, allocate resources, and report on key growth KPIs.
