Global Retail Designer (Parental Leave)
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid: Tues-Thurs Onsite)
Schedule: 40 hours/week (9AM-5PM EST)
Duration: 6 Months, likely not to extend further
Rate Range: $45-$55 per hour based on your experience level
Timeline for Hire: 1-2 interviews, getting started within the next ~3 weeks ideally
Position Overview
Our client, an international footwear brand, is seeking a Global Retail Designer to join our team on a parental leave contract (6 months). The Global Retail Designer will support in the creation and implementation of retail concepts through strong design, visualization and presentation skills. They will bring a creative and collaborative energy to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Design Team in the creation, adaptation and refinement of retail concepts and environmental components.
- Design new fixture elements to solve various consumer and market driven needs.
- Document design direction for communication to partners such as architects and fixture manufacturers.
- Develop 3D visualization of designs to effectively communicate ideas and design intent.
- Develop store designs via standard documentation methods such as floor plans, elevations and sections.
- Research relevant examples of retail, art and design to compile creative vision inspiration.
- Research specifications such as materials, lighting and furniture
- Collaborate closely with Store Planning team to support execution of retail environments.
- Work cross-functionally with Visual Merchandising, Marketing and Digital internal partners as needed
- Coordinate with external partners for development and production of fixtures and design elements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in retail design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous projects.
- Proficiency in design software, particularly Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of architectural principles and retail space functionality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
