What's the job all about?
The Human Resources Generalist will play a vital role in providing support in various human resource functions which include recruitment, payroll, training and development, benefits administration, compliance and event planning and execution. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication, a broad knowledge of Human Resources and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture. This position is a hybrid role based out of our San Diego, CA office.
The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.
- Coordinate onboarding procedures for new hires.
- Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing through Paylocity.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee training programs.
- Organize and track the completion of mandatory training sessions including maintaining records of employee participation in all training and development programs.
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs.
- Answer employee questions about benefits and resolve any related issues.
- Promote a positive working environment and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee files, records, and documentation.
- Organize company events and employee engagement activities.
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor.
This Team Member will have:
- Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required for this position.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years prior HR generalist experience with expertise in payroll required. Proficiently with Paylocity a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems required.
- Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communicator with a willingness to ask questions and learn from colleagues.
- Compliance: Strong knowledge of HR compliance and payroll processing required.
- Organizational Skills: Capable of prioritizing tasks, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
- Data Management: Some experience in data entry, basic reporting, filing, and scheduling is required.
- Adaptability: Openness to learning and adapting to new tasks or challenges.
- Commitment: A genuine enthusiasm and dedication to achieving company goals.
