ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the Infrastructure Management for Public Safety IT (PSIT). It involves the following: server support, service management, incident management, outage reporting, configuration management, and change management, as they apply to the city's public safety system infrastructure. The incumbent is also responsible for making independent decisions within the context of representative duties and primary job focus and scope. Supervisors use judgment in identifying issues, analyzing proposed solutions, and developing recommendations which support management decisions, the City's mission, and the best interest of end users. Responsibilities include but are not limited to understanding and adhering to City and Public Safety Information Technology standards, policies, and procedures, as well as industry best practices.
- Ensures best practices and security requirements are employed for the configuration of all server technology and services under their supervision.
- Responsible for performing and overseeing servers: design, implementation, operations, virtualization, and support services for on premise data centers and cloud.
- Work with System Administrators to determine end users' needs, identify and resolve system issues.
- Ensuring vendor contracts include appropriate SLAs, statements of work, and have adequate language to protect the interests of the Police, Fire, and Emergency Communications Departments.
- Responsible for managing system upgrades for all servers and system support applications.
- Participate in the planning, coordinating and setup for special events, command posts and significant emergencies within the City and with other regional cities and towns.
- Assist in management of various IT projects, grant projects, from proposal to implementation.
- Primary supervisory responsibilities include direct report motivation, coaching, creation of individual development plans, and accountability for the ongoing success of projects and the service lifecycle.
- Understand and adhere to City and PSIT standards, policies and procedures, as well as industry best practices.
- Ensure successful project planning, execution and completion including handing off administration of some technology to employees outside of PSIT
- Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by their supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of experience performing system administration management in a mid-size organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training required.
- Experience with providing 7x24x365 System Support.
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills.
- Self-Motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Technical certifications desirable: Microsoft: MCSE/MCSA, MS-900 365 Administrator, AZ-900 Azure Administrator, VMware VCP-DCV.
- Security certificates desirable: CompTIA Security +, Microsoft MS-500 Security Administrator, Microsoft SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator, Microsoft SC-900 Security, Compliance, and Identity.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate maintenance windows during non-peak hours.
- 5 years of supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and experience working with various technologies including, but not limited to:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2020
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain and Microsoft Group Policy
- Experience with Enterprise Microsoft 365 Exchange & Azure
- Extensive experience with MS WSUS, MS DHCP and MS DNS
- Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, 11 and Mobile Operating Systems
- Extensive Experience with Endpoint Security Software
- Microsoft SharePoint and M365 Teams
- Microsoft SCCM Configuration Manager
- Extensive experience with Intel Server setup and support
- Extensive Experience with Virtualization (VMware/ESXi/vCenter)
- Installation of monitoring tools and automated alert notifications.
- Contract negotiation and vendor management
- Familiar with network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways
- Ability to select and apply industry standard best practices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment with fluorescent lighting, air conditioning, computers, and other standard office equipment. Shared office space can be busy and loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Answer telephones and maintain multiple files. Must read and analyze large quantities of information. Must have enough mobility to get back and forth from the office to off-site meetings. Work is conducted primarily in an office environment with fluorescent lighting, air conditioning, computers and other standard office equipment, but also involves meetings in other offices or facilities.
