Job Purpose
The Lead Program Manager will develop and drive policy and regulatory initiatives that focus on the equitable delivery of the energy transition from the concept stage through proposal filings. In addition, the Lead Program Manager will be responsible for managing ongoing compliance requirements in support of National Grid's federal and state grant awards program. This position collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to improve performance within the regulated electric business. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of stakeholder management, expertise in regulatory proceedings, and experience in corporate strategy, while also demonstrating strong team collaboration and communication capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead cross functional teams to understand the regulatory constraints faced by the NE Electric Business and strategize ways to improve outcomes of future filings.
- Develop and progress regulatory strategies concerning topics such as environmental justice communities, the energy burden on customers, and permit process streamlining.
- Engage in external working groups to stay informed of industry trends and influence where appropriate.
- Manage compliance requirements for federal grant awards, including: Quarterly & Annual Reporting, and Universal Commercial Code requirements
- Lead on annual audit compliance requirements for Federal grant awards
- Lead the coordination of the NE Electric Business's regulatory mandates.
- Educate the NE Electric Business on new and existing regulatory requirements and recovery mechanisms to drive outperformance within regulatory frameworks.
- Draft testimony for regulatory filings.
- Build relationships and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Skilled in contract and project management.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Business, Public Policy, or Engineering discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the utility industry (electric, gas, water) or public utility regulatory agency.
- Familiarity and experience working with federal or state governmental funding agencies a plus;
- Strong project management skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel).
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations or written reports in a clear, concise manner to a targeted audience.
- Change management and influencing skills.
- Excellent interpersonaland communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in National Grid's vision of aclean, fair and affordableenergy future.

Salary: $133,000 - $156,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
