National Grid is hiring aSenior Supervisor, Internal and External, Capital Delivery Supervision for Massachusetts. Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for the construction, safety, reliability, security, and integrity of our Overhead and Underground Electric Distribution projects through the daily supervision and organization of distribution line construction contracted workforce to complete job tasks while complying with company, departmental and regulatory policies, procedures and statutory requirements. Supervise contracted overhead and underground personnel to assure the timely and cost-effective completion of work within the area of responsibility. Provide emergency storm response and supervision of external line resources during emergency restoration operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Oversee Electric Contracted workforce to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost.
  • Ensure supervised Electric Contracted workforce comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
  • Review, ensure accuracy and execute the approval of contractor's units in ACIS and PEFs in CMA
  • Execute all work tasks in compliance with all company, federal and state policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and manage the day-to-day relationship with them to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions within National Grid policies and processes.
  • Act as the Distribution Line Contracting group's first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies in order to provide support and ensure National Grid deliver against service level agreement.
  • Promote and implement Electric Construction's best practices to ensure all work tasks achieve high productivity and low costs.
  • Mentor, develop and supervise subordinate supervisors in electric construction and coach them on the safe working practices on overhead line work.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Must have demonstrated or possess the skills to build effective, respectful, working relationships.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related area or 7 years of related distribution line construction experience or committed to 'on the job' training programs with practical experience of methods, processes, and techniques relevant to area or discipline.
  • Technically proficient within subject matter and experience of leading a team involved in distribution line construction operations activities is preferred.
  • Must have or possess the ability to develop a working knowledge of information systems critical to the work management, financial reporting and performance tracking of the Distribution Line Contracting Department.
  • Must have or possess the ability to develop knowledge and understanding of National Grid's policies and processes and how to apply them effectively to the Electric Contracting Department.
  • Must have demonstrated or possess the skills to build effective, respectful, working relationships.
  • Previous experience in the construction, maintenance and operation of overhead and underground electric infrastructure is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Salary - $137,000 - $161,000
