Genesys is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic professional to lead our Technical Revenue Accounting function. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and serving as a key member of the finance leadership team, this role will be responsible for providing strategic technical guidance throughout deal negotiations and ensuring consistent, accurate revenue recognition globally. The position will partner closely with Sales, Deal Structuring, Legal, and Accounting to support both existing and evolving commercial models.
In addition to evaluating and documenting complex revenue recognition conclusions, this role will champion best practices, maintain and evolve critical accounting policies, and drive training initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate is not only an expert in technical accounting but also a collaborative change agent who excels at developing talent, optimizing processes, imbedding AI, balancing service levels and costs, and navigating complex challenges in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Genesys is headquartered in Menlo Park, CA; this position can be fully remote within US, but will require some travel to both California and Manila when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical accounting expertise under ASC 606, partnering with Sales, Deal Structuring, Legal, and Accounting on revenue accounting guidance throughout the deal lifecycle
- Review revenue contracts and prepare checklists and technical accounting memos to ensure revenue recognition compliance under ASC 606
- Contribute to the development of accounting solutions for enterprise projects, new product offerings and process simplification and improvements.
- Provide thought leadership, guidance, and strategy on technical revenue recognition matters impacting the business through providing guidance and education to all stakeholder on revenue implications in clear, accessible terms.
- Develop and enhance processes and controls around revenue related financial metrics including through the use of AI-driven solutions.
- Ownership of maintenance and enhancement of revenue accounting policies for the Company
- Supporting the preparation of revenue related financial statement footnotes and MD&A.
- Assist in managing internal and external audits over revenue

Requirements:
Accounting Leadership Experience
10+ years of senior leadership level accounting, controls, and financial reporting experience in a complex, global company. Specialized experience in revenue accounting is required, as is deep understanding of ASC 606. Big 4 accounting experience and SaaS industry background is desirable.
Complexity at Scale
Experience in a global business environment of relevant complexity, ideally over $500 million revenues. A background in software and broader technology is preferred but not required.
Transformation
The ideal candidate will bring experience upgrading and evaluating accounting organizations, leading transformation across accounting systems, processes, and teams.
Global Experience
Experience with managing global accounting operations and working with international subsidiaries is desirable.
Leadership and Developing Talent
A track record of successfully leading, hiring, developing, and motivating teams of scale is preferred; management of geographically dispersed teams is desirable.
Education and Credentials
An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required; a CPA or global equivalent is required.

Compensation:
This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
$169,800.00 - $315,200.00Benefits:
