Essential Duties
We are seeking part-time faculty for the Fall 2025 to teach stage management practicums and courses. The successful candidate will stage manage one departmental production each semester while mentoring student assistant stage managers and will mentor student stage managers for additional productions each semester.- Teach a variety of upper level & lower-level courses in production and stage management, including practicum courses, for our University's diverse student population using a variety of appropriate teaching methods; meet all scheduled classes prepared to instruct; prepare teaching syllabi for courses of study; prepares materials to adequately evaluate student progress; report midterm and final grades when appropriate; maintains accurate and adequate records.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities.
- Utilize an equity- minded framework to prepare lesson plans which incorporate varied instructional techniques, multi-media, integration strategies designed to meet the educational, culturally relevant, and emotional needs of our students.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning. Encourages student success to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, immigration status, religion, or disability.
Required Qualifications
MA, MFA, or PhD in related fieldPreferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience at the university/college level preferredProfessional stage management experience preferred.Special Conditions for Eligibility
