SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Patient Financial Services Supervisor or Regional Manager, coordinates and performs the daily operations of the business operations department in a small to medium size practice. Performs various business functions including check-in, cash handling, cashier and patient collections to ensure that organizational and financial objectives are supported. Responsible for working and completing all business operations work queues. Is a resource for patients, staff and other departments regarding business and financial policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
Related Associate's degree in Business or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years patient financial experience within a medical practice or hospital.
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance concepts, coverage and administration processes.
Travel is required between our Needham and Wellesley locations for support, based on team need.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal skills needed with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals at all levels.
Ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership potential.
Strong computer skills including electronic medical record and billing system required.
