Pembroke Project Director - Interiors Development
Role
We are seeking a highly capable, experienced, and motivated commercial development professional to provide management and design oversight of interior design development and capital expenditure projects for Pembroke. Working closely with Pembroke's Head of Interior Design and development team, you will contribute to the interior and experiential design direction and delivery for Pembroke's domestic and international assets.
This position requires an in-person presence in Boston and reports to the Head of Interior Design. You will work with internal Pembroke development professionals with a specific focus on enhancing the interior design team that includes interior and experiential design, art coordination, and creative, strategic thinking. Communicating and coordinating with external contractors and consultants responsible for the delivery of interior environments, you will contribute to and often lead the management, design and delivery of select interior development projects ranging in size from repositioning and gut renovations to larger common spaces, amenities, and spec suites primarily for Pembroke Development projects. Initially, you may also be involved with aspects of delivering the Commonwealth Pier HQ project.
You will be expected to assist in improving processes and protocols to ensure adherence to established and emerging governance procedures and accuracy of financial reporting, as well as contributing to investor reporting as it relates to cash flow forecasting, strategic development investments, and proposals. Additionally, you will be working with our finance, legal, marketing, and asset management teams to ensure a well-rounded and aligned view of our development priorities, delivery of projects, and financials.
Expertise and Skills you Bring
Collaborate on Pembroke's development projects, with a focus on interiors, of various sizes and scales.
Understand project complexities, timelines and status; anticipate, mitigate, and resolve issues and challenges that arise during the development process.
Influence redevelopment and capital expenditure projects within the portfolio, ensuring adherence to defined design, brand, and quality standards.
Assist in the updating and refinement of the design guidelines covering a wide range of topics from finishes, programming and inclusion principles, furniture, acoustics, lighting, technology, art positioning, sustainability, wayfinding.
A bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design
Proven experience in commercial real estate development, including leading or coordinating successful domestic and international teams, both internal and external, in end-to-end delivery of small to large capital projects.
A strong knowledge of interior design and architecture, building systems, and construction.
Demonstrated record of successful process management in complex situations and the ability to effectively engage in multiple, simultaneous projects and priorities, while maintaining a focus on quality and attention to detail.
A customer-focused approach to development, considering a wide-array of perspectives including tenants, investors, and internal Pembroke teams.
The ability to cultivate collaboration between internal and external team members.
Strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to communicate clearly with individuals and teams across various levels and disciplines.
Familiarity with graphic and design software such as Adobe Suite, drawing/drafting software.
Proficiency in project management and control software; previous experience with Yardi CM preferred.
A self-starting personality that works well within a culture that places a premium on performance and quality.
Strong relationships within the construction and real estate industry.
