The Project Manager — based within the Department of Health Law, Policy, and Management and within the BU Medicaid Policy Lab — will lead project management and coordination activities across a portfolio of academic research projects and grants that are funded by the NIH and private foundations. Research projects topically focus on how health care policies and health care delivery models impact quality of care, access to care, and equity of care for marginalized populations, often using large datasets. Maternal health and mental health are two key areas of focus. The Project Manager will work with multidisciplinary research teams made up of clinicians, health services researchers, health economists, social epidemiologists, and biostatisticians from Boston University and Boston Medical Center (BMC), in collaboration with health system partners from across the country and state.
Project Manager responsibilities include the following:

- Management of relationships and communications with key external partners (20%): This includes managing relationships, communications, and meetings with key partners (e.g., health systems, state Medicaid agencies, national associations). Engagement with partners will occur during grant application phase and throughout the duration of research projects as to obtain stakeholder input and as a means of disseminating results.
- Other research support (10%): This includes assisting with manuscript preparation and submission, such as literature searches, documentation of references, formatting. It also may include systematic documentation of health policies through website searches
- Support of grant management tasks (10%): This includes assisting with grant application preparation and grant reporting requirements. Grants are funded by the NIH and private foundations.
