You will work as part of a highly motivated team focused on studying interstitial lung disease using iPSC-derived lung lineages. We offer exciting research and a strong focus on mentorship. You will learn a wide variety of techniques, such as pluripotent stem cell culture, directed differentiation, RT- qPCR, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and imaging.
Responsibilities: You will be working in the lab, performing experiments, analyzing data and reporting results.
Specific duties will involve:
- Cell culture: human iPSC maintenance, expansion and routine mycoplasma testing
- Directed differentiation of human iPSCs into lung epithelial and lung mesenchymal cells, establishment of epithelial-mesenchymal co-cultures
- Flow cytometric assessment of cells
- Single cell RNA sequencing: sample preparation, optimizing workflow, assist in the analysis of omics data
- RNA extraction and RT-qPCR
- Protein analysis, such as Western blot and immunofluorescence (IF)
- Experimental planning, recording of results, data analysis, and presentation
- Help maintaining an efficiently operating lab (ordering, keeping logs and inventories up to date)
