Description
The In Vivo Sciences group within the Immunology & Respiratory (I&R) Discovery Research group is seeking a driven, energetic, and team-oriented Scientist II to join our Ridgefield, CT Research team. The qualified candidate will design, plan, and conduct in vivo and ex vivo studies to support innovative research programs aimed at improving the lives of patients with inflammatory diseases. The position requires hands-on experience, strong technical skills in rodent in vivo and ex vivo studies, and a collaborative approach to research.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiates and completes routine and non-routine experiments independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Designs experiments, analyzes and interprets outcomes, and proposes appropriate follow-up actions.
- Work independently, troubleshoots issues, performs literature searches, and extracts relevant information from published protocols.
- Communicate own work effectively orally and in writing (writing protocols, procedures, and lab notebook).
- Ordering of laboratory consumables to ensure continuous supplies.
- Work well in a highly matrixed environment as a team player under manager's direction and support multiple projects at the same time. Collaborate within the lab/group and work together with the team for larger experiments requiring assistance.
- Provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel.
- Report and treat data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
- Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work safely and maintaining proper records according to SOPs and policies.
Requirements
- Experience in animal handling and routine routes of injection (i.v., i.p., s.c., i.m., i,d., p.o., and i.t.).
- Experience with health monitoring, sample collection, and tissue harvest.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques such as mammalian cell tissue culture, ELISA and plate-based assays, RT-qPCR, multi-colored flow cytometry, and western blots.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technology and concepts.
- Works with a sense of urgency to deliver work as assigned and on time, while taking accountability for own work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with FlowJo and GraphPrism software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Scientist I:
- Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience in related field.
Scientist II:
* Bachelors Degree with 3+ years experience in related scientific discipline or Masters Degree in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
Compensation:
This position, Scientist I, offers a base salary typically between$60,000.00 and $97,000.00. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.For an overview of our benefits please click here
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Experience with immunology in vivo models.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as R and Python.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
