Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist II or III to join our Materials and Analytical Sciences department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiates and completes routine procedures in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision
- Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; Troubleshoots effectively
- Demonstrates technical ability to assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments with supervision
- Applies basic scientific principles, technology and regulatory knowledge with minimal guidance; Performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols
- Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments and to propose appropriate follow-up
- Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; Contributes to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports; provide input for scientific reports
- Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics
- Understand appropriate regulations and legal requirements as well as BI policies and procedures as relevant to areas of expertise; Apply knowledge to ensure safe and compliant practices, manage risk, and maximize opportunities for projects to succeed
- Performs basic troubleshooting for technical problems under supervision
Compensation Data
This position, Scientist II, offers a base salary typically between $75,000.00 and $122,000.00 USD. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
Requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of field
- Apply knowledge of basic theory and scientific principles
- Able to draft portions of technical reports
- Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations
- May require an ability to push, pull, lift and carry objects up to 50lbs.
- May require ability to wear a Respirator
Requirements for Scientist II
- Bachelors Degree plus three plus (3+) years experience in Engineering or related scientific discipline or Masters degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Masters Degree with three plus (3+) years experience in Pharmaceutics/Chemistry or related scientific discipline or Bachelors Degree with seven plus (7+) years experience in Engineering or related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
- Able to draft portions of technical reports
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and systems with independence
Requirements for Scientist III
Eligibility Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
