Our team is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Developer Experience (Node.js and/or Scala/Java, AWS) to join us in our efforts to continue empowering customers around the world.

US Remote - EST

*The working hours for this position will be EST

We are looking for this person to join our team building a product we call, Signals Data Factory. Signals Data Factory specializes in taking in many different forms of scientific data, transforming it into standard formats, and making it searchable (using Elasticsearch) and analyzable via a variety of interfaces. Its current use spans from early in the drug-discovery process to analyzing active clinical trial data. If you are looking to join a team of talented engineers and to contribute to delivering amazing, high impact, customer-focused features, this is a great opportunity.

This person will be responsible for working closely with Development, Support and DevOps teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, correct and monitor issues affecting Customers of our Signals Cloud software product. Develop enhancements and other software that improves the reliability and serviceability of our Signals Data Factory cloud applications. Partner with Development to design, build and update software tooling and scripting that continually improves the software developer experience.

You Will:

  • Help deliver a high-quality product and experience for our many Customers.

  • Become a subject matter expert for our Signals Data Factory features and capabilities.

  • Work closely with Development, Support and DevOps teams to efficiently resolve any issues affecting Customers of our Signals Cloud and OnPrem software products.

  • Craft tooling and application code that's well-documented, testable and reusable.

  • Work with AWS services and cloud technologies, Jenkins and git workflows

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of SRE/Developer experience

  • 2-4+ years of experience with cloud-hosting applications using AWS

  • 2-4+ years of experience working with Jenkins, Docker and git workflows

  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred

  • Strongly driven - ability to triage and prioritize incoming requests for your time in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision

  • Experience with Spark, AWS EMR and/or Elasticsearch - most desired

  • Experience with Instana & Sumo Logic, monitoring and alerting strategies

  • Experience with GitHub Cloud repos and software development workflows

  • Some experience with Rancher and working with Kubernetes

  • Knowledge and ability to develop in Node.js, Scala or Python
