Overview
This assembly position performs a wide variety of fiber assembly, filtration product assembly or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows work instructions and ensure that the finished good specifications are met. This role is responsible for ensuring quality is built in performing fiber bundling, filter potting, filter welding, testing, fitting on assembly units and packaging. This level has the capability to independently perform the job duties independently and can train others.
We are a life sciences company focused on the development, production and commercialization of high-value consumable products used in the process of manufacturing biological drugs.
You’ll be part of a cross functional team of four highly motivated and collaborative colleagues that will be performing the integrity testing of assembled modules. This role will be based in Rancho Dominguez and will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Responsibilities
• Perform integrity testing of assembled modules• Follow detailed manufacturing and assembly procedures.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper set up; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.• Comply with Good Documentation Practices when creating, documenting and reviewing Lot History Records, Inspection Records and Testing.• Prepare chemicals solutions (Isopropanol and Glycerin).• Operates small hand and power tools to assemble products• Identifies and reports quality problems and follows reporting procedures• Able to train and work in cross-functional areas/departments• Understand and reads 1D/2D drawing and is able to follow the bill of materials as specified in the standard work instructions • Provide mentorship and workflow guidance to Assembler 1 and 2 Operators as necessary• Ability to train employees in all areas of the assembly department• Follow good manufacturing practices per company operating procedures.• Clean, maintain, and operate automated production equipment per SOP's.• Clean and organize workbenches before and after shift.• Train new personnel on manufacturing procedures.• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.• Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• AA degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• 3-5+ years of medical device assembly experience.
• Experience working with hand tools, powers tools, and test equipment and good understanding of basic computer applications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including comfort with using tools to make simple repairs.
Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.• Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.• Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Peripheral vision and Depth perception.

The estimated hourly rate range for this role, based in the United States of America is $25-31.
