About the Team
In 2024, Workday launched an Enterprise Data and Analytics team with a mission to transform and optimize the way Workday creates and shares trusted data to drive actionable insights and data led innovation across the enterprise. The team has introduced a new, cloud based technical stack, a Data Product methodology anchored in the principles of Data Ops, an Active Data Governance methodology to manage the quality and discovery of data, and a series of modern analytics tools that facilitate discovery, analysis, visualization, machine learning, and AI. The team's goal is to lead high value cross-functional data and analytics work and to establish and support the broader Workday analytics community by establishing modern, common ways of working, facilitating training and communication, and creating secure data and analytics brokering capability across business units.About the Role
We are seeking a highly collaborative individual with a unique blend of technical proficiency and business acumen to act as a bridge between our analytics engineers and data product owners. The ideal candidate will be able to understand complex business challenges, translate them into actionable technical solutions, and effectively communicate with product owners, analytics engineers, and stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful data product delivery. This role will play a critical role in enabling and driving data-driven decision making, and powering insights to optimize performance and operations across the company.
The following are key responsibilities:
Establish Standards and Best Practices: Implement and maintain a framework for data exploration, transformation, and product build, including processes that support data discovery, model build, and metric development, while reinforcing strong data governance practices.
Drive Adoption of Methodology & Tools: Promote the adoption of our operating practices and technology enablement capabilities across the organization through training, mentorship, and support. Prescribe appropriate methods and usage of tools for discovery, visualization, data science, and AI.
Promote Efficiency and Effectiveness: Best practices can help streamline processes, reduce duplication of effort, and improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of analytics initiatives.
Facilitate Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: By fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Sr. Manager can help build a strong analytics community
Mentorship and Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to analytics professionals, fostering their growth and development within and across the organization.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a change agent, who is comfortable leading by example. This individual will bring a highly analytical and results-oriented mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a unique ability to act as a bridge between data analysts, analytics engineers, data product owners, and business partners.
Basic Qualifications
Relevant Experience: 12+ years of experience supporting the creation and/or delivery of business analytics and the development of insights
Proven Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading data analytics teams and driving successful data product delivery and/or outcomes.
Strong Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of analytics tool technologies (FiveTran, Snowflake, dbt, Sigma, Tableau), and methodologies
Superb Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical team members, establish relationships, and influence across all levels of the organization.
Passion for Data: A strong belief in the power of data to drive insights and innovation.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to align analytics initiatives with broader business goals and objectives. Proven team leadership - ability to build and grow exceptional talent.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
Strong business sense and understanding of business processes.
Other Qualifications
Experience building data products for operational use cases
Experience providing Analytics partnership to one or more functional areas, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Customer Success
Understanding of enterprise data strategies, data architecture, and complex enterprise environments with system and data interdependencies
Experience in the Software industry

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
