Full Job Description

The DAM Librarian, or Sr. Marketing Operations Specialist, Digital Asset Management (DAM), will manage digital and component assets in various cloud-based systems for the Commercial organization at Alkermes. This covers proper allocation of taxonomy, metadata, and tagging; ushering assets through appropriate review processes, workflows, and lifecycles; ensuring proper archiving upon retirement; and tracking via reporting and status updates. Assets to be managed include graphic design elements, photography, video, and digital content.

This person will be an integral part of the organization’s adoption of a recently launched Adobe suite of omnichannel platforms and the integration between those Adobe applications and the existing Veeva Vault PromoMats instance. This role will report into Marketing Operations, but will work cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders including Marketing, promotional review teams, agency contacts, and the omnichannel strategy team.

This person will manage schemas and dictionaries to ensure consistency for the organization and will work closely with DAM users to support their successful adoption of the omnichannel applications. Critical to the success of this role and the team is the ability to evaluate current systems and processes, bring lessons learned back to the cross-functional team, and champion continuous improvement. 

Alkermes has adopted a hybrid working environment to support and meet the needs of employees and this role will operate in a flexible environment with 60% of time in the office and 40% from home.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently upload, manage, and organize all digital assets (naming, rights, associations, storage, housekeeping) to facilitate retrieval, use in production, and reuse for the development of new assets
  • Implement and maintain strategy associated with asset lifecycle (includes updates, archiving and deletion/expiration) and compliance
  • Ensures quality of incoming assets (quality, copyright, & metadata tagging) meets organizational standards
  • Manage asset taxonomy and nomenclature for accuracy and consistency
  • Compile detailed inventory of existing assets, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and provide reporting and status updates to stakeholders
  • Evaluate digital assets for archiving, research rights issues, and maintain quality control of archiving operations
  • Act as a primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders; support effective working relationships with Marketing teams, agency partners, and cross-functional team members
  • Assist internal IT and business owners in working with Adobe, Veeva, and other vendor partners to assess, update, test, and implement system enhancements
  • Facilitate onboarding, offboarding, and license management for the DAM system
  • Help establish process and user management standards and provide training on proper usage and best practices for users of the DAM system
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in digital marketing or marketing operations related role

Preferred Skills and Knowledge Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional-level experience in operations, marketing, pharmaceutical, or related areas
  • Experience with records management and in cataloging and classifying materials
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Problem solving and research skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to be flexible and respond to quickly changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of media usage rights terminology
  • Familiarity with the copy review process in a regulated industry
  • Awareness of Adobe Creative Cloud software a plus
  • Knowledge of Veeva Vault PromoMats system preferred
  • Ability to run and analyze reports
