Technical Product Manager - Quantitative Portfolio Risk Platform
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Product Manager to lead the development of a cutting-edge quantitative portfolio risk platform from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to build a greenfield system that will be instrumental in our firm's risk management and investment decision-making processes. As the Product Manager, you will be the driving force behind the platform's vision, strategy, and execution, working closely with a team of talented engineers, quant developers, and risk management professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Vision and Strategy: Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the quantitative portfolio risk platform, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall risk management goals and investment strategies.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across the firm, including portfolio managers, risk managers, quant researchers, engineers, and senior management, to understand their needs and manage their expectations.
- Product Design & Development: Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and launch. Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the development team.
- Technical Acumen: Possess a strong technical understanding of quantitative risk models, data architectures, and software development methodologies. Contribute to technical design decisions and evaluate trade-offs, ensuring the platform is scalable, performant, and meets the evolving needs of users.
- Prioritization & Execution: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing long-term strategic enhancements with tactical enhancements required by the business. Ensure timely delivery of features and functionality while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical teams. Effectively communicate product updates, roadblocks, and successes to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Platform Adoption: Drive the adoption of the platform across the firm. Develop training materials, conduct user onboarding sessions, and provide ongoing support to ensure users can effectively leverage the platform's capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of successfully building and launching complex analytics platforms, preferably in the risk management domain.
- Deep understanding of quantitative risk models, including but not limited to VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
* Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
