The Vertex Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. Job Summary:

This position will be part of the GPS Safety Systems team and will give the candidate an excellent opportunity to learn and work in a regulated environment. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn how we collect safety information in both clinical trials and post marketing, develop technical skills as well as to interact with business users to understand/gather requirements, and then recommend/develop solutions to meet those requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn to write reports using Oracle SQL and a reporting tool (PowerBI) to extract data out of an Oracle Argus Safety database to support GPS users as well as operational and regulatory needs.
Learn to work and support business users in a regulated environment.
Learn to troubleshoot and resolve problems for end users
Opportunities for special projects to be defined. Examples include development of web-based portal, digital reporting solutions, etc.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a College/University and have finished at least two-three years of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or equivalent.
Be highly motivated and have an excellent work ethic.
Be enthusiastic to learn new skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams, Outlook)
Experience in or have taken a course about Relational Database Management System (RDBMS)
Experience in or have taken one or more classes about Structured Query Language (SQL)
Experience in working in a Windows application environment supporting web-based users
Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States
Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2025
Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from May - August 2025
