




WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Independently design visually engaging presentation materials (e.g. slide decks, teaching visuals, lecture support graphics) for use in live classes, recorded videos, and online learning platforms. Collaborate with College Marketing to ensure alignment with brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to translate complex academic ideas into clear, accessible visual narratives.
- Create visual designs and informational graphics to tell a story and/or explain a concept.
- Create visual assets for instructional videos, including lower thirds, animated intros/outros, concept illustrations, graphs and charts.
- Use generative AI tools (e.g. Adobe Firefly, DALL·E, Midjourney, ChatGPT) to assist in brainstorming, prototyping, and refining design concepts more efficiently.
- Evaluate and adapt AI-generated visuals and content with a critical design eye to ensure alignment with academic goals, accessibility standards, and College branding.
- Maintain design consistency across academic media, while introducing creative innovations that enhance learner engagement.
- Support visual development for internal presentations, conference materials, and special events in the academic technology space.
- Stay current on trends in visual design, educational media, and generative AI applications in creative workflows.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s Degree in area of specialty or a relevant field
Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in Graphic/Multimedia Design, Print Design, Web Design, or related area, including experience in an in-house creative environment, developing visual and/or presentation-based graphics.
A creative thinker with a passion for helping others teach through design.
An early adopter who enjoys experimenting with emerging tools like generative AI to improve creative output and productivity.
A strong communicator who can explain design decisions and guide non-designers through the process.
A flexible team player comfortable navigating both structured academic environments and fast-paced creative projects.
Mastery of presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
Working knowledge of generative AI tools for design ideation, rapid prototyping, and image generation.
Understanding of accessibility principles and universal design for learning (UDL).
Familiarity with instructional design or eLearning production workflows.
Understanding of MS Office tools to create and build graphs and charts (Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
A conceptual designer who combines strong traditional design skills with an innovative mindset – someone excited to explore and incorporate generative AI tools to streamline design workflows, spark creativity, and accelerate visual content production in service of teaching and learning.
HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 per week; the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE
- Must have a professional portfolio that can be presented upon request.
- Experience with HTML and CSS is a plus.
- Experience with creating prototypes using Figma or similar is a plus.
- Experience with motion graphics tools such as After Effects and Davinci Resolve a plus
- Experience in designing for higher education or educational media environments is a plus.
