Director, Cloud Engineering - Observability
The Role

As a Fidelity Architecture and Engineering Chapter Leader, you will blend deep Cloud Engineering knowledge with a passion of coaching, mentoring and developing associates. You are committed to improving the value delivered to our customers by collaborating with other leaders to drive adoption of engineering standards, influencing strategic decisions and build high quality data streaming platforms. You will directly manage a team of engineers who work with the Observability Platforms.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Previous line management experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing teams in an agile organization
Proven knowledge and experience of building and managing cloud platforms
Builds strong partnerships with product leaders and platform leaders to enable open discussion on how to improve engineering maturity of our platforms.
Drives change across our platforms, advocating for the right outcomes for our customers while actively influencing how we build, operate, and do things within their squad and Chapter.
Hands-on experience making data-driven decisions, creating data visualizations, and presenting the data to senior leaders
Actively sharing insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the organization
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with which you build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization.
Experience identifying and acquiring talent needs, resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations.
Experience in advocating for adoption of tools and standards that benefit the growth of the platform area.
Bonus Skills
Familiarity with observability platforms and best practices (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
Foundational understanding of Kubernetes (EKS / AKS)
Aptitude towards engineering excellence in the measurement, execution, and maintenance of core engineering standards.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
