Job Summary
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join our organization as a Sr. Grants Manager in the Office of Sponsored Programs. Reporting to the Director, Office of Sponsored Programs the successful candidate will be responsible for pre-award and post-award contracts and grants within an assigned portfolio. The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) provides research administration services to the Institute for pre-award, post-award and subaward issuance and monitoring. Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Primary decision maker for pre-award and post-award grants and contracts within assigned portfolio. Makes recommendations for revision, verifies that all sponsor and institutional policies are complete prior to submission.
- Ensures that all approvals are in place, established accounts, initiates and/or negotiates subrecipient agreements, monitors expenditures, reviews and approves subrecipient invoices and payments, cost transfers, and requisitions for purchase orders. Facilitates obtaining pre-approvals when required, i.e., requests for re-budgeting and/or carry-forward of funds and prepares required financial reports for funding agencies with the Grants Accountant.
- Reviews and submits project and/or program technical reports and other non-financial documents to the sponsor on behalf of investigators.
- Manages the grant or contract lifecycle, from negotiation and drafting to execution and closeout with the sponsor.
- Ensures that all contracts and funding agreements adhere to applicable laws, regulations and institutional policies.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Certification and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or CRA certification or equivalent.
Experience:
- Five-years related experience in a Research Administration/grants management or health care environment.
Skill Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance, NIH Grants Policy Statements, Federal Acquisition Regulations and other agency rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated good judgement, negotiation and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, grants administration, budget planning and monitoring including excellent computer skills, including database management.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply funding agency and Institute policies.
Working Conditions and Additional Requirements :
- Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
- Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
- May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
