We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with experience in a discovery pharmaceutical setting. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills along with a solid background in the life sciences. The selected individual will join the Discovery Biologics group at Our Company and will primarily be responsible for the expression and purification of therapeutic protein and antibody candidates. Additionally, complex multi-step purification of difficult to generate proteins will be needed. The candidate will be expected to interface with other functional groups including in vitro display, molecular biology, and protein engineer functions and the downstream analytical group. Good communication skills and the ability to present scientific data to multi-functional teams are critical.
What you will do:
Contribute to our Discovery Biologics pipeline by generating high quality antigens, antibodies, and other fusions proteins.
Collaborate with upstream and downstream colleagues to enable continuous process improvements
Serve as a functional area representative on program teams
Promote the external reputation of our Discovery Biologics organization
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's in Biochemistry or related discipline with 2 years of hands-on post-graduate industry experience, or Master's in Biochemistry or related discipline with hands-on industry experience
Excellent attention to detail and record keeping in electronic lab notebooks
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Required Skills:
Experience in transient protein expression from mammalian cell lines (HEK and CHO)
Experience in multiple techniques of antibody/protein purification, including affinity, ion exchange chromatography and preparative size exclusion
Basic protein analytics including analytical SEC and SDS-PAGE
Technical background and hands-on experience with aseptic cell culture techniques
Preferred skills:
Experience with AKTA FPLC purification workflows strongly preferred
Experience in protein design and engineering with focus on antibodies including bispecific/multispecific formats
Experience generating challenging to express proteins including but not limited to multispecific antibodies, membrane proteins, and highly glycosylated antigens
Experience in other characterization workflows such as binding (SPR) or functional (cell based) assays
Experience with liquid handling systems (Hamilton, TECAN, Lynx) a plus

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is
$96,100.00 - $151,200.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
