The Team
We are seeking an Intern to join American Tower’s Specialty Construction team in the Construction and Development organization. The Construction and Development team delivers new assets, redevelopment projects, and capital improvements across the Company’s portfolio. Day to day you will work closely with the Specialty Construction Team and assist in the administration, coordination, and project management of real estate development and field-based construction activities nationwide. This includes, but is not limited to, wireless, broadcast, and edge data center estimating, permitting, and construction activities.

What You Can Offer
- Assist with managing aspects of construction and development project lifecycle including planning, design, budgeting, prioritization, scheduling, execution, and close-out.
- Use systems such as Outlook, Salesforce, Siterra, and Oracle to communicate, capture data, manage approvals, obtain deliverables, and perform tasks such as generating purchase orders, change orders, and generating RFIs for vendors.
- Collaborate with our team and learn estimating skills across multiple product areas, including managed networks, new site development, capital improvements, strategic relocations, and drop and swap projects.
- Assist the edge data center team with build readiness. This includes performing administrative and evaluative tasks on potential site location candidates.
- Implement office-based operational procedures to ensure consistent and continuous compliance.
- Proactively identify safety, process, or financial risks and collaborate with your manager to develop preventative action plans.
- Provide regular project level updates to internal and external stakeholders by verbal and written communication, which includes the use of data, charts and PowerPoint.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Construction or Engineering.
- An interest in wireless, broadcast, data centers, construction and/or engineering.
- An ability to understand budgets, reporting and project management concepts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Strong organization skills, including the ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Capable of working independently within the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and basic Excel functions. Previous Salesforce, Siterra and Oracle skills are a bonus, however not required.
