The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role within the WI Finance Team, delivering significant financial insights and analysis to aid in organizational decision-making. This role provides a wide range of analytics, financial management, and business partnership support sought at driving improved outcomes and enhancing overall financial performance. As a strategic contributor, the senior analyst plays a significant role in advancing Finance's efforts to support the growth and development of the business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

This role requires a deep understanding of financial results, including identifying key drivers, emerging trends, and anomalies to advise senior management and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate business acumen and analytical tools to deliver evolving insights, reporting, and analytics aligned with business changes. Responsibilities include reviewing and synthesizing business performance data into executive-level presentations, operating independently, and collaborating across WI and Wealth/Brokerage to ensure consistency in analytical approaches and data standards. The role also involves streamlining processes, simplifying models for greater efficiency, and developing a strong grasp of WI's financial architecture to support modernization initiatives. Proactive communication and partnership with business and Finance teams are critical to success.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MBA preferred. 5+ years of related work experience
  • Proven knowledge of financial modeling, presentation, and data visualization tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Thinkcell, Tableau, Business Objects, Anaplan)
  • Shown ability to craft presentations for senior management
  • Intellectually curious, self-starter who takes initiative, learns quickly and is comfortable handling opposing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliability, flexibility, and goal-oriented member of the team who is motivated for both individual and team success
  • Detailed knowledge of financial concepts, methodologies, and accounting principles and their impact on business decisions
  • Maintains and prepares automated, standard, and ad hoc reports; pulls data systematically, aggregates, analyzes and tailors presentation of data to intended audience
  • Demonstrates understanding of process flow and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills including ability to communicate successfully with Finance and business partners at varying levels of the organization
  • Ability to take initiative and seek creative solutions that challenge conventional approach
