Under general direction, provides analytical, project management and database support. Gathers, compiles, organizes and documents financial information. Research background informational material and relevant financial data. Analyzes, consolidates and interprets the data. Assists in conducting and documenting financial analyses and forecasting projects and studies for use in the development of business strategies and tactics. Builds financial models to support operational initiatives and analytical endeavors. Performs a variety of ad hoc data and financial analysis requests on behalf of the practice sites, central departments or management. Works under supervision on routine but productive assignments. Typically reports to a finance manager or director.
Essential Functions
Knowledge regarding current and evolving provider payment methodologies
· Reviews and monitors contract/payer performance
· Compares expected reimbursement data to negotiated rates from contract
· Develop analysis in support of payer contracting efforts, including review and modeling of proposal during contract negotiations
· Perform strategic analyses related to network partnerships, strategic growth, and other critical strategic projects.
· Collaborate closely with contract managers and payer and network contracting leadership to identify risks, opportunities, and support decision-making.
· Research and analyze market and industry trends, publicly available information, and best practices to inform strategic decision-making.
· Develop and deploy subject matter expertise in public payer ACO models (Medicare and Medicaid) and create analyses to assess ACO performance and inform decision-making related to public payer ACOs
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education, training or experience), preferably in accounting or finance.
Skills and Experience: Minimum 2-4 years experience in the area of financial or data analyses. Understanding and working knowledge of accounting and finance theories, practices, and regulations. Experience in computer modeling and forecasting. Ability to apply financial and statistical principles and techniques to synthesize large amounts of data. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Detail oriented with strong technical writing, communication and presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills. Experience in healthcare delivery desirable. Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
