





The College of Fine Arts seeks a Performance Library and Instrument Manager for the School of Music. This position is responsible for management of the College of Fine Arts Music Curriculum Library, which maintains the School of Music's collection of performance parts, as well as the School of Music's inventory of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. The position oversees the acquisition, preparation, and distribution of music sets for all School of Music and University ensembles; the distribution of performance materials to the Schools constituents; the return of music sets and materials to their sources; and the maintenance and circulation of the Schools holdings of performance parts (its library). Additionally, this position advises on the application of copyright law and arranges for necessary performance licenses for both in-person and streamed performances as well as hires, trains, and supervises student employees. The position also oversees the loaning of instruments to students, ensures that instruments are in working order, advises on instrument acquisition and disposal, and determines instrument needs with School of Music partners (e.g., BUTI).
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in music and a minimum of 2 years working in a classical music performance environment and familiarity with instrument inventory.
- Broad knowledge of classical music, music terms as well as basic understanding of French, Italian, German and Latin as it relates to musical scores.
