Full-time

The Lifeguard/Swim Instructor is a full-time position within the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. This position will assist with lifeguarding coverage of open recreational swimming, programs and special events. Additionally, this position will assist the Aquatics staff with instruction of its award-winning programs. This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays. Some administrative work will be required, as will other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • 3-5 years' experience working with kids and/or adults.
  • Maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification or equivalent.
  • Maintain current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification (preferred).
  • Ability to pass BU Aquatics Lifeguard and Instructor Swim Assessments. 
    Proficient with Google and Microsoft Office Suites.
