Full-time

The purpose of this position is to develop and manage the Career Development Center’s (CCD) model program for peer career education, directly supervising a part-time Graduate Assistant and approximately twenty Career Ambassador student employees.  The Manager is responsible for all aspects of the student engagement effort, including selection, training, coaching, and evaluation of the Career Ambassadors, who act as peer educators, in support of the CCD’s Career Communities strategy.  The Manager is a resource to the Career Ambassadors, but also provides oversight for all program activities and events to ensure collaboration, planning and implementation are effective and support CCD’s goals.  The Manager provides leadership for student engagement, peer education, program development, inclusion and diversity, and relationship building with partners across campus.

Essential Functions:
Oversee development and implementation of the CCD’s student engagement (Career Ambassador Program) to ensure it is integrated with and supports the Career Communities strategy of the office, providing direct supervision and mentoring to a Graduate Assistant and the Career Ambassadors.

Plan, develop, and implement a peer education training curriculum to ensure the Career Ambassadors properly represent the CCD, effectively present the full depth and breadth of CCD programs, events, and services to students, provide high-quality frontline peer advising to students (Drop-In Hours), while developing and producing innovative programs for students.
Participate in the delivery of those programs, events, and services in conjunction with the Graduate Assistant, while training, mentoring, and coaching the Career Ambassadors, to ensure their successful participation.

Engage in appropriate outreach to academic and administrative departments and represent the CCD in encouraging and promoting participation in and utilization of programs and services offered by the Career Ambassadors and CCD team with attention to marginalized communities and BU’s diverse student population. Represent the CCD at designated events or programs.
Support data collection on programs, services and outcomes, utilize data in program planning and evaluation, produce reports as needed, and support the CCD’s overall data analytics and assessment strategies.  Participate in professional associations, remain current on best practices and trends in the field, and contribute to the profession through presenting, publishing, or serving on committees.

Oversee budget for student engagement, including payroll, to ensure annual spending is effective and within fiscal limits.
