The Azure Storage team delivers object storage (Azure Blob Storage), shared storage (Azure Files) and block storage (Azure Disks) to enable developers to build scalable, durable, and highly available cloud native and AI applications and persist data for their container and Virtual Machine (VM) workloads. These capabilities form both our public Azure Storage platform, as well as the foundation of service and product offerings across Microsoft including CoPilot, Office, Windows, Xbox and many more. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager - Azure Storage to help drive critical components of the object storage service. As a Principal Product Manager you will be responsible for understanding the needs and challenges of customers, driving the product vision and strategy, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver innovative and impactful features and solutions.

- Understand the scenarios, workloads, and the deep technical storage requirements associated with our largest and most complex customers. Close the product feedback loop between customers and engineering.
- End-to-end ownership of feature and capability delivery:
- Work with engineering teams for design, plan, and delivery
- Coordinate cross functional teams for launch
- Drive product adoption, growth, and retention through effective go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and messaging.
- Measure and monitor product performance, usage, and feedback, and iterate based on data and insights.
- Understand the storage market landscape, customer pain points, and competitive offerings.
- Define and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and value proposition to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, analysts, and media.
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of proven track record of delivering successful products and features that meet customer needs and business objectives; with a passion for customer satisfaction, innovation, and quality.
- 3+ years of proficient analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive product decisions and outcomes.
- 1+ years of experience in product design, launch, technical acumen, WITH artificial intelligence related features and products.
- 3+ years experience delivering large-scale SaaS(software as a service), PaaS(platform as a service) or public cloud services or products with the responsibility for the full product lifecycle, from concept, to development through launch and go to market.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- 1+ year(s) of preferred experience working on or with one or more of the following:
- High-performance network attached filers and filesystems
- On-premises SAN and NAS solutions
- Object storage services and platforms
- Long-term retention and archiving solutions including tape
- Large scale data migration solutions
- Storage protocols, clients, tools, API, libraries, SDKs
- AI/ML workload patterns including training, fine tuning, and RAG
- 1+ year(s) as a people leader, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment, with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
